from the founder

Cape May was summers, weekends, salt air and memories long before it became home. Over time, it became something more: a return, a rooting, a reason to stay.

Memories have a way of bringing us comfort. A smell, a feeling, a familiar place can take us back to a moment we thought we had forgotten. Often, the things we wear become the tangible part of those memories.

I believe what we wear can hold meaning. A hoodie remembers a break-up. A t-shirt remembers a concert. A hat remembers a vacation. Certain pieces become tied to people, places and moments without us ever expecting them to.

When I design, I’m thinking about the fabric, the feel and the color, but even more about the moments that piece might live in. A walk after dinner. A late-summer night with family. A weekend away. The ordinary moments that somehow become the ones we remember most.

I hope Urban Local Coastal gives you something that feels familiar, brings back fond memories, and gives you a sense of belonging. And maybe, in its own quiet way, something that carries a little hope and light into whatever comes next.

We create the garment. You create the memory.
